Inspire Me Thursday----Seven

"Seven white butterflies

Delicate

In a hurry

Look how they bang the pages

of their wings as they fly."----Mary Oliver

Done on watercolor paper. I had been playing around with adding Liquitex's natural sand texture gel as a base. It left a really cool surface but probably not the easiest for me to paint on.

Her name is Mother Moon and she is the keeper of the seven butterflies, the seven blessings. Each night she releases them into the world where they fly to those in need of a bit of help. As she sets them free she prays that they make it safely to their destination, she prays for those waiting, dreaming in their beds for a sign, a shimmer of hope.

Now, that is cool...very much dig the story. I see a children's book in your future. Hmm, do I always put this kind of pressure on you?
