i love these words by susan g. wooldridge in her book foolsgold-making something from nothing:
"find a way to honor who you are and who you are becoming. create a spontaneous gathering for yourself...dream what you need into being. find poems you like, songs, music. Turn a table, or your whole house into a cathedral for a ceremony for yourself. gather in a circle as humans have since prehistoric times. include earth, air, fire, and water--holy water you have gathered from a wild place. kazoos, balloons. chocolate. wine. whatever you love. do this often for yourself and each other, fashioning your own deep and wide shelter."

Hey, you. I was just poking around old posts and I saw a link to me. Oh. I just had to write and tell you that you've made my day! Your talent is so amazing. I feel like Sally Field, "She likes me. She really likes me." Anyway, thank you.

Both the picture and the quote are wonderful reminders that celebration is such an important part of life. Too often we save it for "special" occasions - but really isn't every day a special occasion? Thank you for this piece of inspiration. I feel very joyous just having looked at the warmth of your photograph and the experiencing the energy of the words.
