A few images from the past week...

Last Saturday the altered art group that meets at a local library here in Roanoke had an art show. It was a special time for me as each woman who had art hanging there is a unique wonderful soul that I enjoy spending time with and learning from. There was an inspiring variety of styles and it gave me such a strong feeling of community to look over and see my pieces hanging there alongside the amazing art that these ladies have produced. I did manage to get a shot of the piece I posted close-ups to a few posts back. It is 12x12 and called--"girlfriends." Also shown is a shot of the last minute adjustments before folks started arriving. Not shown is the table of altered books, the display case of jewelry and pottery. I will have to do a better job with the photos in May when we do this again at another local library. I was also not so good at keeping my bum in a chair and demonstrating how to start an altered book....I kept wandering around, chatting and watching everyone else demonstrate. Ooops...sorry ladies!

The COLLAGE sign beginnings and endings:
The above photo is the start of a big project, or at least it is BIG in my mind-one of those crazy "hmmm, how can I pull that off, I don't have the faintest idea but I want to try kind of things." It will hopefully involve several altered books and other altered "things" and I will post about the progress along the way. My goal ---keeping my fingers crossed---is to work on it a little each day, somehow! ahh!, after working on Able's story and homeschooling....and exercising...and cooking...oh, and cleaning....and dreaming....yikes! How do we do it all? Anyone have the answers?
One good thing--I finally cleaned the art room over the weekend and made room for Olivia so we can get all messy and arty together. This should help cut down on the guilt I feel when I disappear to create.

Wishing you a creative Sunday.

Blessings,

Hi Tricia. So fun to find such wonderful artwork! Do you by any chance know of Pikeville, Ky? That is where I am from and my Parnets are from Grundy. I couldn't believe it when you said Ronoake. Lot's of family and memories there!
Cheers,

Can't wait to see what you do with the hand! I bought several similar hands a few years ago, still waiting for that perfect whatever to do with them. Yuor collage is gorgeous, the show sounds like fun-wish we could get a group of like minded souls here to do the same. I'm working on it:)
