Illustration Friday {EXTREMES}

Something a bit different from me. I gave myself a challenge and that was to lay down paint very very quickly, not working from a drawing or much of an idea. My only thought of her was that I wanted to have her arms crossed. I chose to use watercolors straight from the tube-Olivia's paints, actually and I lost the cap for one of the colors. Ooops, I will be in trouble this morning!
Her name is Anneth and I am so happy with her. I know I have such a long long way to go on my painting journey but she feels like a good next step.

Oh! I like the looseness of this! You should keep playing with spontaneous art-making - the results are really nice! I love the smoldering atmsopheric background and the intense look in her eye. Lovely work, Tricia!

very different from your usual, tricia and yet it is still very you. I love the expressiveness of the brushstrokes. really adds the mood surrounding her.

This is hauntingly beautiful! Your spontanous process really worked for this piece. The watercolor concentrate adds to the mystic of Anneth. :D

Very soulful. It reaches into a person and tugs at the heart. xoxo Nita

This is exactly the style that I dream of being able to do. Loose and free and beautiful. Each stroke so perfectly placed or "laid down" as you said. And yes, you did give her some body language.
I enjoyed this the day you posted but was unable to post a comment. Dang blogger sometime uncooperative.
