"Truth is, if one's heart chooses love a peaceful vision will come."
Growing up in a superstitious home meant that everyday occurances meant so much more--the bird that flew against the window was a sign that death was coming to someone we knew. I will never forget the nights when that would happen and I would stay awake wondering who it would be, praying it would not be me.
With this piece I wanted the birds to be messangers but I wanted them to bring messages of love. A much more pleasant thought don't you think? :)

This is gorgous! I like how you decided to reinterpret the superstition, making the birds a messenger of love. What an interesting exercise to try in changing one's outlook!

This is a stunning piece Tricia!!! Isn't art a wonderful way to recreate our world, what we've been told about life, about ourselves...? I love that her heart is green, as it should be (speaking in terms of chakras :-)

It's gorgeous, and I much prefer to think of birds as messengers of love - for whatever reason the birds keep bouncing off my windows - so much so that one of my window frames is actually warped!

I love superstitions as you know but i will never forget one day a bird flew into our classroom and the teacher completely freaked out - lost all control of herself and headed for the door for the same resaon you cite. We were happy as she was not a nice teacher anyway.
Love your artwork as usual - the beautiful look on the lady's face whilst staring at the bird is mezmerising.

I love the little birdies in this peace. I have never heard that superstition before - about the birds flying against the window. Good thing because that happens quite often at our house due to all the windows that we have. Of course maybe it has something to do with the fact that we bought the house from the estate of a woman who had passed away. That was years ago and however it still haunts to this day.

Superstitions... silly stuff, really! This painting is absolutely beautiful! I think that look of love and peace on the woman's face says it all.
