ARTWORDS --- DINNER

This one was a tough-ey. The theme for this week is "dinner." I had the last post without a vintage image so I knew only that I wanted to use one this time. This piece, unlike the last art piece, was made very quickly. I am not sure I like the colors at all but I am drawn to the face of this little girl. She is a copy from an old tin type. With these images found either on ebay or at an estate sale or someplace like that there is such a sense of mystery. What was her name? What was her life like? Was she happy? She reminds me somehow of myself as a child.
And thinking of dinner---what is your favorite? If I am ordering out, I will chose sushi every time. At home I love to make curry dishes and dishes from other countries, especially the vegetarian ones. Do you ever do breakfast for dinner? We do and that is a fave! Olivia is saying her favorite dinner is black bean soup.
What is your favorite thing to eat for dinner?

Glad you liked the tags. We do have breakfast for dinner once in a while and I love it! Breakfast is my favorite meal, so it seems like a treat to have it at dinner...especially French Toast!! Yum!

Yuuummm, we just had that night before last. Eggs, sausage and toast with orange juice. We call it Brinner:) I really love this collage and the colors you used. I like the green and brown tones together. Good idea for Artwords also. I was/am stumped:)

Thank you for your nice comments on my blog. I recently opened an email from Lisa Kaus.blogspot.com
she was admiring a piece of my art.
But when I followed her link it was your bluebird collage at flickr.I was crushed but had to laugh out loud. She did end up wanting some of my work but had to let you know that she so loved that piece of your art. Your art is beautiful thanks for the inspiration.

My husband makes wonderful sushi.

Your collage is really beautiful. Where is the photograph from?

I love the collage, and think the color is quite pretty. I first saw the little girl's face, too. I'm like you in that I wonder about photos that I see at estate sales, etc...and why they are for sale, and the story behind the photo itself.

My favorite take-out is hand-made thin crust bacon pizza from a local family-run Italian restaurant, Pete-n-Sam's. My favorite at-home dinner (an easy one, too) is Italian-breaded chicken and rice. I'll try to share the recipe next week...

I love my visits here Tricia. You are thoughtful and talented.
We do sometimes have breakfast for dinner, more during the late fall. Apple waffles are a favorite.
My favorite dinner is one from my childhood....actually two and it's been years since I've had either. One grandma used to make me tomato gravy and biscuits and the other would make beans, collards, cornbread and chow chow. Both of them have passed on now, but just the thoughts of these two meals brings me happy memories of a time around their kitchen tables and their unconditional love.
