Altered Bits and a painting for sale

I am honored to have work in super-talented Alicia Caudle's Altered Bits Magazine. There's tons of goodness in this zine. And see the third image, the one of the girl and the moon. It was hanging in my studio for a good while after sending the scanned image to Alicia. I thought it was finished. But then one day I pulled it from the wall and started tinkering with it, adding glazes of blue and painting the party horns yellow and red. "Just what story are you telling me?" I asked the girls. They replied that theirs was a story of growing up. "See the moon there. It governs us. It pulls at us on the inside. Our blood cycles with the moon." The red ribbon was added to represent the cycle which enables new life and awakens a vital creative force. It is about honoring the feminine, embracing the cycle. To me, they appear spunky and determined, strong, ready for whatever life brings to them.
