Back in the 80's when I was in a rental, my kitchen ceiling fell down. We saw the cracking begin and had just enough time to rescue Thanksgiving Dinner. Whew. I agree with you and Marnie, all houses are money pits in one way or another. Glad it wasn't any worse than this.
Laughing is better than crying. Maybe the insurance will take such good care of you that you'll be able to do something exciting that you've been wanting to do at home.
marni, it was surreal and scary and crazy...susan, so glad you were able to save your meal! relyn, years ago i would have cried. getting wiser as i get older. ;) at least i hope so.
