Exhibition 36---!

Congrats to Susan Tuttle!!!!
I am doing a happy dance for her right now!
Susan is an especially wonderful creative soul who is seeing all of her hard work pay off---I love that. I love passion and seeing people do what they love. Isn't that a beautiful joyous thing?
Now available for pre-order is Susan's book.
I am excited about this book for many reasons, the first being that it just sounds incredible.
I visited her blog this morning and then visited some of the artists she has linked to in her post about Exhibition 36 and found a wealth of inspiration there in those few minutes so I can only imagine the creativity the book itself will inspire.
The second reason I am excited---see on the cover-there in the left hand corner, see that little girl---she is from a transparency piece I created. I tear up sometimes when I look at her--I feel such a connection to that dear soul, whoever she was. I found the image in an antique store but I think I will claim her as one of my own.

Susan, I feel more blessed than I have words to describe to be included in this book. Thank you dear friend.

Yesterday I played around shooting with my digital camera through the viewfinder of a second camera. It is SO fun--I think you should run to your camera/cameras and try this right away. :)

You can learn about the TTVF technique here.
There is a handy contraption you can create to avoid glares and I would recommend making one or something similar. I haven't done that yet which is probably one of the reasons I ended up with only one shot that was a keeper. Oh well. I had fun and that's the most important thing. More and more I am trying to focus on the truth about the joy being in the process of creating and not so much in the end result. Sometimes that's a difficult concept for me to wrap my mind around and other times it's so clear. Funny how that is.

Funny how life is. How wonderful!

update---added another TTVF shot---not so happy to be interrupted from her dancing to pose as you can see from the expression.

Congrats on the small role in this beautiful book, and good job on the ttv...that is not easy! My twin sister does this kind of photography on occasion, and it is full of potential mishaps.

Hi there-
I'm guilty...I'm a lurker!
I LOVE these TTVF shots. I think you're getting such a nice feeling with them. I adore how the soft edge cropping gives them a vintagey touch.
So.....maybe I'm being dense, but how exactly does that work? Are you using JUST the view finder from an older camera, as in removing it from the original camera and sticking in front of the digital kind of like a filter? Or, are you actually putting the digital lens up to the physical viewfinder hole of the older film camera? So confusing, but so neat!
