It All Seems SO Fragile

I have been absent here more than I want to be. In the photo above I am sending all of you guys LOVE. I am thankful to anyone who stops here for a visit.
I don't want to see the Internet as an energy drainer but maybe it is for me right now. Just for a little while. See, here's the I thing---I am afraid.
If I log on to blog, maybe even do a little blog visiting while I am at it then I may not write the other thing. The other thing that means the world to me and that other thing being the telling of the story of a girl named Able. (I mentioned this project a few posts back.)
Everything about this project seems so fragile to me.
What if I run out of time? If I blog will I use up all of my creative energy? Is this even possible? Maybe it is like love and just keeps growing.
Also it's as if I think I have only so many words I am allowed to write per day and I need to save them for her story.
I am funny this way and will try to work past it all.
So, not only am I consumed with reading everything I can get my hands on about writing fiction, I am spending any extra ME time with laptop perched on lap, writing away, praying with all of my heart that I can translate the characters in my head into words and that this story is worth telling. Well, I shouldn't write that. I know it is worth it to me because I am enjoying it so very much. The world of fiction, of make believe, of magic. I am addicted to this character, to her story and I am anxious to share more with you. Soon, I hope.
I am working through the first draft now. I am going through to the end. That is my mission. :)Last night I checked my word count and I was at 20, 000 words! Yay! I did a little shout for joy. This is already a record for me. I am on chapter 7...I think there will be around 21 chapters or so...
I hope everyone is well and being creative.
Blessings,

Yay for fiction (and poetry)! It's all in the commitment. Once you've made that -- zee world -- she eez at your fingertips, and the nasty ol' procrastination beast dare not get you now. You've nothing more to fear!

Well, okay, except perhaps the occasional dust bunny.

Happy writing,

Diann

For me blogging and the internet is very draining. It is very hard for me to spend a lot of time on the computer and then have enough energy to do my art. It frustrates me very much when I over do it on the computer. I have to only use the computer briefly so that I don't lose that creative luster. :)

Congratulations on your story! I'm cheering you on!!

The words will flow from your fingertips like thoughts from your mind. Let it happen!!

Dear Tricia, I can completely understand your anxiety and the decision to reserve your energy. I find when I am imbuded with a certain element if I break the energy, I have a hard time getting it back. My experience with writing is reading other authors, poets, and essayist to the ins and outs of using my pen. Remember there is no rules in writing and there is also the trusty edit to reshape your proses. Best wishes-xoxoxoxo

Sometimes you've just gotta pace yourself. Theres a time for everything and everything in it's own time. Being creative is just like that. Sometimes there are dry times, other times the energy to create comes in a magnificent burst, sometimes everything comes slowly and quietly. Do what your heart and interior muse guide you to do, and every inspiration will blossum when it is ready.

If is possible add the CresceNet(www.provedorcrescenet.com) in your blogroll, I thank. Good bye friend.

Tricia, I'm so happy that you are taking this time to concentrate on your writing. "Do what you love" is one of my philosphies of life. I think that is we can do that, then everything else falls into place. Enjoy this time.

Tricia, your details are so vivid of her in your brief description that I can already picture her in the book... I wish you all the best in this endeavor.

Tricia, after reading your post I think next time I read a book I shall be more appreciative of the hard work and sacrifices that authors make.
Thanks for sharing and best wishes for your continued flow of words!

Although sharing - the give and take - is a lovely social interaction, the creative process and product are really more important. I am always amazed by those folks who blog regularly, posting little pieces of things they've created. I imagine many of them must have the free time to do that - create and blog, blog and create - but speaking from my perspective, my "free" time is so limited and I'd rather spend it creating! The blogging becomes an extra. Anyway, I am impressed by how much you've accomplished and very happy for you that you are putting your energy into your story. I am sure it will be as full of heart and soul as your visual art:>
