Grateful I Am

For a few months now I have been visualizing a new camera in my hands. The limitations of Kelly's point and shoot became painfully obvious to me during Olivia's ballet performance as I would see these great shots but have no way to get them. Then... last week I discovered the option at Ritz Camera to "get now, pay 6 months later." I went back and forth with myself for a while, well, a few hours really, but then I decided to go for it.
When I got home Tuesday night the camera (Nikon d40x) was waiting for me...ohhh I am just so grateful and I played with it all day yesterday...(yesterday was my husband's birthday---Happy Birthday Kelly!) and boy oh boy, do I have a LOT to learn but I am excited about this new creative outlet.

The top shot is of the small space where I do my art. The room itself is a decent size but Kelly has his office stuff in here and we have all of our homeschool books and desk in here also. I have claimed a spot of my own and it is funny how just stepping into position is sometimes enough of a trigger to get the creative flow going. The bottom pic is of Sadie...let's see, the full name Olivia gave her is Sadie Sevadah Wilson Mae. We just call her Sadie or Saysay. Kelly's mom calls her Satan-she always thinks Sadie is giving her evil looks. Ahhh! Sadie likes to sit at my feet while I do art and I love the company.

And the last two are my "bestest creation of all time"---Olivia, still and solemn upon wakening.

and well, "my bestest creation ever" is ready for me to help her with her math....

xo,

I stumbled in here through Sharon's blog. I love when that happens.
Your little girl just takes my breath away! Her complexion is flawless and those eyes. What a precious little faerie.

What beautiful pictures! LOVE the blue wall and I have to agree with your mother-in-law about the evil looks from the cat. I went back and read several of your other posts and I am inspired just by reading your entries and looking at your pictures.

Tricia~ I just love your blog. I was glad to read about the new camera because I am currently stuck using disposable cameras and am on the hunt for a new one. I will keep checking your photos to see how you're doing.
