Round Robin --- Octagon

I want to say thank you for your comments on the last post. I have been so short on time lately that I haven't been able to visit all who have been so kind but I plan on making the time this weekend to connect with all of my blog friends and see what you have been up to. I seem to be sharing more these days, personal stuff that I truly do want to share but feel strange/silly/embarrassed about later. Each time I do I am met with such blog love and I am grateful for each of you that visits me here. I am sending a hug to each of you. Did you get it? :)

And here comes more sharing---These are the two pages I just completed for a shape book round robin. These were done in Patti's octagon book. When I first received her book in the mail I was amazed at the fact that was done all in fabric with felting and stitching. Wow. I sat with it for a long time wondering what in the world I would create for her, wondering if doing something with my regular paints and photos would be ok. I procrastinated until I absolutely had to add something because it is time for this book to make it's way to another artist. Patti had mentioned that she loves children and birds as themes so I hope she likes them. The faces of both children are just really precious aren't they, especially the one below. In the original cabinet card she holds a broom, a tiny Cinderella.

these are just stunning!! And an octagon shaped book? Made me smile as the cafe I co-own is called Octagon Cafe!!! Yup. the first one was in a small octagon shaped building, so we HAD to call it that. Then we lost the lease and moved down the street and already had established steady patrons and felt we had to keep the name. :)

Best ~ Rella
