Finding Balance

I believe I am working this out, this balance of being a homeschool mom, a wife, a housekeeper, an artist, a friend, a daughter, a sister. All of those things. Today was a good day. A day where I felt I could tackle it all. It was a day where laundry wasn't in a pile as high as Olivia and I actually made the bed. My hair fell right into place and I wasn't late. I got cool news and we spent good times outside with friends. We learned and we laughed. Olivia did this odd thing of taking a nap and I played with my paints. Kelly and Olivia are outside on the porch waiting for me to join them. I think we may even get a thunder storm...quite a lovely day.
I hope your day was just as lovely.
Hugs,

Isn't it great that there are THOSE special days, where your hair is good, and everything is right with the world??

I am loving the latest collages you are making! Do you take off homeschooling and spend summer "vacationing"?

Hope you have bunches of those kinds of days, Tricia,

I was going to get all wisdom-y on you and say "let go and just enjoy" but then I realize that at half a century old, I still find myself trying to find my balance. I can look back on the days and years past and see their beauty, but I tend to think my present day always needs tweaking. Which, in some ways, is appropriate. We should be in charge of creating our lives and ourselves. But it's a negative thing when we think things would be perfect if we could just get our hair to work, or our diet, or our whatever. One of my favorite quotes is from a John Lennon song - "Life is what happens while you're busy making other plans."
