The 100th post. A Give-Away. And Gratitude

Let's start with the gratitude. My heart is full to bursting with thank yous to all of you who were so kind to post your thoughts and encouragements from Friday's post. Glad that I didn't delete the post like the reserved part of me wanted to, I am feeling such a sense of connection, of community right now. The little girl side of me who was hurting so deeply and was so afraid is dancing about and saying, "wow, they understand, they are healing themselves too and we who make art are alike in so many ways." Thank you for saying to me that it is ok to be open and to share fears as well as art and pretty pictures. Thank you.

You know, it dawned on me last week that I was getting close to my 100th post. I knew that I wanted to do a give-away I just wasn't sure what so tonight while my hubby washed the dishes and Olivia worked on a song she is writing for me I came in to my art space and made a little something. All you have to do is leave a comment and I will let Olivia draw a name on Wednesday night.

It is made with various papers collaged on canvas paper with a transparency stitched on top. 5 x 5. I will also come up with a goodie bag of papers for the winner.

Sweet Dreams!

Hi Tricia,
Firstly thanks so much for psoting on my blog - it was so lovely of you to take the time to do so, I really appreciate it.
And OMG... I was only on your sight the other day and fell in love with your artwork, I was sure I left a comment somewhere as I absolutely adored your botanical collage piece. It was eery because my mother is called Betty and this little girl looks like my mum as a child.
Congrats on your 100th post what a great effort. I will surely be coming back here most days to pop in and say hi.

As I've often said, there is nothing like heartfelt art to help us release and heal those feelings and experiences we are ready to let go of. I was so touched to read of your recent art-healing experience, and so glad it happened for you.

Congratulations on your 100th post!!!

Tricia, it takes a lot of nerve to put your personal self "out there"! I've found that sometimes the support I've received from my online friends has surpassed that given IRL. Art DOES have the power to heal, I'm glad that it's working for you too!

This is so beautiful. Your collage work is amazing. I envy those of you who are able to do it and do it so well. Just catching up on my reader blogs and I went back and read through your Friday post and commend you for letting it out. Journaling or writing about it gives such a release and is very therapeutic. Hope that it helped to heal a little bit of that hurt.

This is gorgeous. I saw it on flickr before I read this blog post and marked it as a favorite. :)

Art can definitely be healing. it is hard to be so open and honest and raw at times. But we need to in order to be whole. Thank you for sharing yourself through your art and in your words.

Tricia,

Thank you for sharing your heart. Sometimes I think I hide from my studio because of fear. Fear that I might feel something. Your post is encouraging and your art is beautiful. It really draws you in and keeps you there.

Hello Tricia, about your Friday post. I am beginning to think that it is easier to make more true friends blogging than face tor face! We tell each other things/accept things
Easier/quicker than we may face to face! Here it does not matter how big your house is, what kind of car you drive, how successful you are a work what ever. We are all saying here I am, here is my art/life!
And just love me damn it! He He! Happy 100th post and oh yeah please enter me in your giveaway! Thanks

Hi Tricia,
I just read Friday's post. I too had a childhood very much like that--so I understand exactly what you mean. I am so glad you had a cathartic (sp?) moment and felt lighter afterwords.

Thank you so much for sharing your story--and thank you for not deleting it.
