what a fun theme! i don't have a mona stamp so i scanned in a page from olivia's art book. the mona lisa is one of olivia's favorite paintings so that made this even more fun. after i had her scanned in i played with the saturation a bit in photoshop. i added some color to her cheeks and lips, some green to her dress. pink and blue were added to the background to jazz it up a bit and then i printed her onto glossy photo paper. with a bit of paint i added some accessories-some bangles for her wrist, a ring and a necklace. i stamped the word "diva" across her chest with white ink. (the diva stamp is from hampton art stamps.) next i took a black piece of cardstock, stamped it in white ink with an anna griffin floral background stamp and a dark red/rust cardstock and with embossing ink stamped a lace pattern using a 1997 stampin' up stamp. i embossed this paper with black embossing powder. i mounted the black cardstock onto the rust and the mona on top of the black cardstock. next i mounted the rust cardstock onto a blank vanilla card and added a bit of black fiber for fun.
i have a friend who has a birthday coming up soon. maybe this would be a good card for her-she is quite a diva after all!
oh and i have to add---check out the picture of olivia next to the card---she was about 2 1/2 here and i remember that day so well. we were at the dining room table painting with watercolors. i left the room to make us a snack. when i came back she had her shirt off and was rubbing the paint all over her tummy.....such a funny memory!
