Guidance

Can you read my license plate? Create Art. Some people just don't get it. :)

"We learn to do something by doing it. There is no other way."---John Holt

"Only when he no longer knows what he is doing does the painter do good things."---Edgar Degas

"Do not fear mistakes-there are none."---Miles Davis

I was in need of some inspiration and guidance tonight and I thought I would share. The quotes are from "The Artist's Way" by Julia Cameron. Sometimes if I am feeling a bit lost on this art journey I will pick up this book and just open and read wherever. I don't think I have ever read it straight through.

There are days when I am full of ideas and energy but these latest days have not been that way. I have found myself tired-ohh so very tired---and sort of empty. Once I would have panicked, wondering if all was lost but I have grown used to this lull, knowing that it is just that. The well that is dry will be filled again. I will relax and roll with the tide. I will read good books and look at wonderful art and journal my thoughts to paper and wait. Maybe I will do yoga and stretch, reaching up to the sky as if to pull ideas straight from the heavens. I will open my heart and I will trust.

It has been a while since I last listed items on Etsy but I thought I would give it a go again. I have been doing some cleaning in the art room and found some items that needed a new home---some vintage photos, a bird book and some vintage book pages. to check it out click here.

blessings,

I really like your license plate!
The bird eggs look so pretty. They are true magic of nature.
